On the Orientation Day we officially welcome our students and provide them with a day full of information to find out more about what is on offer at SSIS and opportunities to meet fellow students, faculty and staff members.
The Orientation Day for 2016-18 batch was scheduled on 12th July 2016. The students and parents were shown the "Fountain of Knowledge" video explaining the genesis of Symbiosis. The Director, Ms. Shivali Lawale extended a warm welcome to the students and parents alike and explained the vision behind setting up of SSIS and the skills to be imparted through the curriculum. Her address also included an overview of the three verticals of SSIS – the M.A. programme, the IRGA and the IRC. This was followed by introduction of students, staff and faculty. The Deputy Director, Dr. Sukalpa Chakrabarti shared an overview of the functioning of the institute, the SIU Code of Conduct, Anti ragging measures and also the teaching- evaluation pattern to be followed at SSIS. This was followed by a presentation on the Library Rules and Facilities by the Librarian Ms. Smita Kadam. The Campus Administrator Col. Kempraj, discussed issues related to campus facilities, discipline and hostel. Next up was a presentation on the learning management system "Curiosity" by Mr. Tarun Markose from Teemac.
This was followed by a tea break and informal interaction.
After a brief campus tour of the campus facilities, the students were taken through the procedural formalities of registration.
